There is no shortage of causes: overwhelming caseloads, limited budgets, complex and divergent responsibilities, and secondary trauma, all against a background of political unrest, systemic racism, dysfunctional leadership, and a global pandemic. At Better Urban Health, we are committed to preventing burn-out by responding to the literacy and training needs of anyone interested in learning more about either of our specialty subjects: Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), Complex Trauma (Children of Color), Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Mental health (Children of Color).
Towards the BUH mission, our professional community offers a series of workshops that respond to the current needs of communities of color nationwide. Topics have included, but are not limited to:
Workshops may range from three hours to full day conferences. Final day, anonymous, conference thought surveys confirm that Better Urban Health's professional development training helps to keep professionals that work within communities of color on their A-game. But, don't take our word for it. Bring us in and see for yourself.
